Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), made this announcement on Wednesday in Abuja.
According to Gabkwet, the airstrikes against oil thieves and economic saboteurs in South Africa have not stopped.
He stated that on Tuesday, two Cotonou boats that were seen in Arugbana, close to Okrika, and an operational Illegal Refining Site (IRS) on Yellow Island, close to Bonny Island, both in Rivers, were destroyed by NAF aircraft.
He claims that on Monday, comparable strikes were carried out in the state at a place southeast of Abisse.
"At the site, an operational IRS was seen hidden with reservoirs and a storage tank that might have been filled with illicitly processed goods.
After that, the storage tanks and reservoirs were attacked and destroyed.
Another location, northwest of Omama, was also targeted because it was seen to have materials tied in sacks that appeared to hold stolen crude oil.
Following that, the air component destroyed a large number of IRS, leaving a retinue of destroyed and abandoned IRS over Cawthorne Channel, Bille, Dariama, Okrika, Bonny Island, and Idama.
"The fact that these sites are still dormant suggests that the actions taking may be having the desired effect.
"In any case, Operation Delta Safe's Air Component will keep performing its assigned tasks until these saboteurs' activities are completely stopped or minimized," he declared.
