400 corps members from the 2023 "Batch C stream 1" orientation exercise have been transferred by NYSC from Zamfara to the states of Sokoto and Kebbi.

"The corps members from Zamfara have been redeployed to Sokoto and Kebbi States by NYSC headquarters, Abuja," NYSC Coordinator in Zamfara Alhaji Abdulsalam Alhassan told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gusau on Tuesday.

He stated, "The orientation course for the corps members will take place in the orientation camps in Sokoto and Kebbi."

Alhassan thanked the Zamfara government for their thoughtful contribution to the program.

We are extremely appreciative of the state government's ongoing efforts to completely renovate our permanent orientation camp located in the Tsafe Local Government Area.

Alhassan continued, "We also applaud the state government's decision to reinstate monthly allowances for corps members working in the state's civil service.

On Saturday, August 17, eight members of the NYSC were abducted by gunmen on a Zamfara highway.

When they were kidnapped, the Akwa Ibom corps members were being transported to Sokoto State for their national assignment in an Akwa Ibom Transport Corporation bus.
