16 Days of Activism: WARDC Urges govt commitment to VAPP Act implementation
The Women Advocate Research and Documentation Center (WARDC) has urged government authorities at all levels to ensure the rigorous enforcement of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Act as a preventive measure against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).

Dr. Abiola Akiyode-afolabi, the Founder and Executive Director of WARDC, emphasized the importance of political will, resource investment, and the implementation of VAPP Laws across Nigeria to address the root causes of SGBV.

Dr. Akiyode-afolabi highlighted the significance of the 16 Days of Activism, from November 25th to December 10th, as a collective call to action against gender-based violence.

The theme for this year underscores the need to invest in proactive measures for effective prevention.

WARDC commits to advocacy, legal aid, research, and documentation to contribute to a world where every woman and girl can live free from fear and violence.

The organization will engage in various events, webinars, and awareness campaigns during the 16 Days of Activism to unite against gender-based violence.
