Wike: FCT will build 30 km of roads throughout 6 Area Councils.
30-kilometer highways would be built throughout the six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), according to Mr. Nyesom Wike, Minister of the FCT.

Wike made this statement on Wednesday when Sen. Philip Aduda and Mr. Zakari Dobi paid him a visit in his Abuja office.

Aduda, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, served as FCT's senator in the Senate during the 9th Assembly.

He and Dobi, who ran for the seat again as members of the All Progressives Congress but fell short of Sen. Ireti Kingibe of the Labour Party, lost.

The 30-kilometer roads, five in each of the six regional councils, will be finished by May 29, 2024, according to the ministry.

He claims that this will decentralize development initiatives from urban centers to rural areas across area councils.

"Before May 29, President Bola Tinubu had ordered that at least five kilometers of roads be built in each of the six area councils.

He explained that this was a part of his renewed hope agenda to make sure that those living in rural areas weren't excluded from the administration's development initiatives.

Despite their differences in political party, Wike praised the tourists for working together as a team to advance the FCT.

He pledged to regularly consult them so they could contribute their fair share to building the city, and he also said that the FCT Administration would work with anybody who has something to contribute.

By taking away every bottle from the carrier progression, the minister highlighted that the creation of the Civil Service Commission for FCT was a component of the renewed hope agenda.

In order to promote growth in the nation's capital, he continued, FCT was also taken out of the Treasury Single Account (TSA).

The aim, according to Wike, is to restore citizens of the FCT's lost faith.

Aduda had earlier stated that the purpose of the visit was to congratulate Wike on his selection as the Minister of the FCT and to recognize the excellent work he was doing.

In addition, he said, they were there to express their gratitude to Tinubu for choosing a native son as a minister and to promise their entire support for the growth of the FCT in everyone's best interests.

The creation of the FCT Civil Service Commission, the removal of the FCT from the TSA, and the creation of the Women Affairs Secretariat to address women's issues were all daring moves, Aduda stated.
