The Deputy Speaker congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his accomplishment and stated that the Supreme Court's decision upheld the wishes of the Nigerian people who turned out in large numbers on February 25, 2023, to support the APC and President Tinubu.
According to a statement issued by Mr. Levinus Nwabughiogu, his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Kalu said that Nigerian democracy has won.
But Kalu praised the opposition's bravery for going to court, arguing that it was within the bounds of their rights in a democratic government.
Now that the legal battle is ended, he challenged the opposition to support the federal government's renewed hope plan to improve the lot of the populace.
"I congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who holds the title of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on his decisive win at the Supreme Court.
"I applaud the judiciary for their unwavering commitment to maintaining the integrity of our legal system. The decision rendered today is evidence of the strength of democracy and the rule of law.
"I also commend the All Progressive Congress (APC) leadership, who leads our wonderful party. This historic win confirms the people's mandate for our party and bolsters the President's resolve and dedication to serving the country. He has persisted in giving the nation a renewed hope agenda in spite of the setbacks.
"With the Supreme Court's final submission, I beg all resentful opponents to stand by the existing administration and concentrate on national development and governance. We must work together to fulfill our shared duty, putting aside political animosity and conflict. In the end, this win represents Nigeria's democratic success. Says Kalu
