Tinubu permits Wike to establish a Women Affairs Secretariat for FCTA.
The formation of a Women Affairs Secretariat in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Administration has been approved by President Bola Tinubu, as announced by Mr Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the FCT. This initiative aims to address various women-related concerns inside the FCT.

Wike, in a press briefing held in Abuja on Friday, said that this action was undertaken by Tinubu as a demonstration of his dedication to inclusive governance, which encompasses the involvement of all individuals.

According to his statement, the FCTA now possesses secretariats that handle various development matters, although it lacks a dedicated secretariat specifically focused on women's issues.

According to his perspective, women play a crucial role in the country's development process, emphasizing the necessity of taking deliberate actions to solve the challenges they face.

According to Wike, the consideration of women is vital when discussing matters of good governance and development in the contemporary world.

I propose the establishment of a secretariat dedicated to addressing the needs and concerns of women, similar to the existing commissioner of women affairs offices found in other states.

Therefore, it is imperative for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to incorporate measures that promote inclusion.

“As I am talking to You My President has approved that we have a Mandate Secretary for women.”

According to the minister, it is anticipated that the inauguration of the Mandate Secretary for Women Affairs would take place on Monday.
