Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, made this information public in a statement on Thursday.
According to Kesha, the road will be closed for renovations from Saturday, October 21, at midnight, to Sunday, October 22, at midnight.
She stated that the government was prepared to initiate extensive bridge rehabilitation work, starting with repairs to the crucial areas.
Kesha noted that in addition to the extensive repair work, "the Ministry would be carrying out palliative works on the most critically failed sections along the Adeniji-bound carriageway on Sunday, Oct. 22 in order to alleviate the pains currently being experienced on the bridge."
To ensure smooth traffic flow, Kesha asked drivers to cooperate with the traffic control personnel by following all directions and obeying any diversions.
She urged drivers to take alternate routes wherever feasible while repairs were being made.
