Governor of Akwa Ibom State Umo Eno has issued a warning to the public, advising them to be cautious of a phony Facebook account purporting to be controlled by the governor, which makes a ₦150,000 promise to promote companies.

Governor Eno stated that "the fake account is sending out notices advising members of the public to contact a certain Mr. Bishop Godwin for more information" in a statement provided by his chief press secretary, Ekerete Udoh.

Eno stated that the government is not considering creating such a program and that it does not currently exist.

"We would like to inform the public that this is the work of con artists, as there isn't a current initiative of this kind nor is one being considered," Eno said.

He went on to say that law enforcement is pursuing Bishop Godwin, the con artist, and advised the public to disregard and disregard this blatant con.
