The terrorists ambushed worshippers inside the mosque in Sabon Layi, Kakangi Ward in Birnin-Gwari local government, Kaduna State, in the early hours of Tuesday.
The Imam and one other person were killed when the terrorists raided the mosque in the Ga Allah Babba neighborhood of Sabon Layi.
The mosque's Imam, Malam Mamuda, and one Kabiru of Unguwar GA ALLAH BABBA were killed, and Bilya Mairabo and Ashiru Mairabo are currently undergoing medical care at Jibrin Maigwari General Hospital in Birnin-Gwari after suffering significant injuries.
In the meantime, Ibrahim Abubakar Nagwari, the chairman of the Birnin Gwari Vanguard for Security and Good Governance, condemned the terrorist attack and claimed that "almost every day, terrorists are on parole across the entire Birnin-Gwari local government area, killing and kidnapping innocent citizens."
The situation on the Birnin-Gwari-Kaduna route, he claimed, "is more worrying and has turned into a nightmare for travelers, violating security escorts of commuters' vehicles by security personnel."
