It was discovered that Tumbun Fulani and Tumbun Shitu were targeted during the period of September 27-30, 2023, just prior to Independence Day. It was determined that the actions of terrorists in these areas posed a significant threat to both military installations and law-abiding citizens residing within these locations.
The Air Force headquarters revealed that, near Tumbun Fulani, individuals associated with terrorist activities were witnessed clandestinely placing jerricans into two military vehicles, which were disguised beneath shrubbery.
As to the statement made by Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the spokesperson for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), NAF aircraft were promptly deployed to intercept the identified site, which is suspected to serve as a significant hub for logistical operations. Following the military strike, a comprehensive Battle Damage Assessment indicated that a number of terrorists were effectively neutralized and the gun trucks were successfully incapacitated.
