Sultan calls for an end to the slaughter of Gazan civilians in the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), has demanded an immediate end to hostilities and the creation of a humanitarian corridor to allow the passage of food and medical supplies to Gaza.

We question how many thousands of civilians must perish in order to satiate the appetites of bloodthirsty gladiators because enough harm, destruction, and fatalities have already occurred.

The Sultan stated in a statement that was signed by Prof. Salisu Shehu, the Deputy Secretary-General of the NSCIA: "The ferocity of the assaults is heart-breaking. The Council demands an immediate cease to hostilities against Gaza because to the horrifying attacks on people.

He referred to the most recent Hamas attack on Israel as a ring in a long string of episodes that needed to be addressed since actions and reactions are constantly changing.

Part of the declaration is as follows: "We should also keep in mind that Israel orchestrated the overthrow of the democratically elected Hamas in Palestine. People fight back when they are pressed up against a wall. And Hamas carried out the action. A full-scale war and total siege on two million helpless people, however, are heinous, repulsive, and unjustified.

The discerning are aware of the conditions that led to the current escalation. It is because Israel has consistently disregarded UN resolutions, failed to carry out the Oslo Accord's two-state solution, and failed to ensure the political and economic security of the Palestinian people.

The beleaguered area has instead been subjected to a most heinous colonial policy by the Israelis. Under the abominable false slogan that Israel was a people without land and Palestine was a land without people, they have also continued to treat Palestinians as less than human and turned Gaza into the greatest open-air jail in the world.

"There shouldn't be any discrimination in the establishment of lasting peace. While pursuing peace is ideal, doing so without justice will only lead to further conflicts in the future. It is truly tragic that world leaders simply speak in platitudes about promoting peace and refuse to establish fairness in Israeli-Palestinian relations. To achieve justice, oppressors must be stopped and the afflicted must be consoled.
