Senate Chief Whip exits the chamber angrily
San Ali Ndume, the Senate's chief whip, exited the plenary on Tuesday after being declared out of order by Godswill Akpabio, the Senate's president.

Ndume made a point of order, citing Order 54 of the Senate Rules, asserting that it was the Chief Whip's duty to remind and guide the Senate regarding the rules and procedures of plenary.

Ndume attempted to alert the Senate President to issues pertaining to Senate procedures through the order.

However, shortly after hearing Ndume's point of order, the Senate's president declared that the passage Ndume had mentioned did not correspond to the information in Order 54.

As a result, Akpabio declared him to be out of order.

Ndume then left the meeting and proceeded to his office while the Senate President formally requested a closed session.

Ndume, however, returned to the closed session after getting a phone from a colleague informing him that the Senate had decided to go into closed session.
