On the occasion of the 2023 Peace Achievers International Awards/Summit, she was also given the Award of Excellence in Peace and Community Development.
At the 12th edition of the prestigious annual Peace Achievers International Awards and Summit, held on Saturday at the Abuja Continental Hotel in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Buhari was honored among other notable Nigerians from various backgrounds.
Dr. Samuel Ojong, the African representative of the American Management University who oversaw the ceremony, advised those who received the honor to act as excellent representatives of the school.
He clarified that Buhari and other recipients of the doctorate were recognized for their wisdom, ethics, and leadership prowess as well as their outstanding humanitarian contribution.
In congratulating the winners, Amb. Kingsley Amafibe, Project Director and Chairman, Planning Committee, noted that the Peace Achievers Award honored people who had made significant contributions to nation-building via peace-driven projects, education, and youth empowerment.
He claimed that the goal of the 12th iteration of the yearly awards, which has "Sustainable Peace and Economic Growth in Africa" as its topic, was to emphasize the significance of peace in fostering economic growth.
Therefore, he asked the recipients to view their honor as a "higher calling" to devote themselves even more deeply to promoting peace in Nigeria, Africa, and the rest of the globe.
"I would like to congratulate everyone who received an honorary doctorate degree and one of the 12th Peace Achievers International Awards in 2023.
The Peace Achievers International Awards are a private project of the Peace Ambassador Agency to honor African people and groups who have shown a great commitment to giving back to their communities.
"We are creating a movement that encourages peace and cohesion in Africa, involving all facets of society.
He remarked, "There has never been a better time to honor outstanding individuals like you, so that together we can create a global partnership for peace."
Amafibe said that even while many patriotic men and women had made significant contributions to the peace-building effort in Nigeria, it was crucial to recognize the "outstanding" ones.

She has extensive expertise in both the public and private sectors, including law, aviation, oil and gas, real estate, and interior design, and she is a skilled management strategist.
The project manager with a degree from Harvard Business School is well-known in the business world for her dedication to managing human capital, coalition building, and project management.
She is a humanitarian and the creator of the non-profit organization Daurama Foundation, which empowers women and young girls via education and job training.
