The alert comes as several activists, including well-known comedian Adebowale David, aka Mr. Macaroni, prepare to commemorate the solemn event with a peaceful stroll.
According to Mr. Macaroni, he will take part in the solemn procession to remember the victims of the #EndSARS protests on October 20, 2020.
"3 Years already! #EndSars! We will never forget! We will be moving in silence as we walk to remember everyone who passed away on October 20, 2020! Additionally, we march in memory of everyone killed by police violence in Nigeria! We stroll peacefully! We won't forget, ever. On Thursday, Mr. Macaroni tweeted.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the police spokesperson, stated in a statement on Thursday that there will be absolutely no gatherings or convergences permitted near the toll gate.
"Bus stops/waiting and passenger gathering are suggested by busses at/near the Oriental Hotel. For the avoidance of doubt, absolutely no congregating or converging would be permitted anywhere near the toll gate, according to Hundeyin.
However, Hundeyin stressed that as long as participants in a peaceful walk are not blocking traffic, the police will be present in full force to protect their safety.
