PDP wishes Nigerians a happy 63rd anniversary of independence.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) extends their congratulations to the Nigerian populace on the occasion of the nation's 63rd anniversary of independence.

In Abuja, the PDP conveyed the aforementioned message through its National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Debo Ologunagba.

According to Ologunagba, the commemoration of the occasion functioned as a reminder for both Nigerians and global advocates of liberty to actively safeguard the principles of democracy.

According to his statement, it served as a reminder to actively support the principles of the rule of law, the protection of human rights, and the promotion of transparency in the governance of the nation.

The speaker expressed that the People's Democratic Party (PDP) observed with distress that the progress achieved by the nation's founding leaders and the significant accomplishments attained during the period referred to as "Nigeria's golden years" have been undone.

According to his statement, the independence and sovereignty of a nation are intrinsically tied to the rights, liberties, and freedoms of its citizens.

The individual expressed the importance of engaging in governance by means of a democratic electoral process that is characterized by freedom, fairness, and credibility. They emphasized the need for a transparent and accountable government that upholds the rule of law and respects the constitutionally protected rights of its citizens.

Currently, the Nigerian currency, the naira, has experienced a significant depreciation against the United States dollar. During the tenure of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), the exchange rate was at N187 to the dollar. However, presently, the naira has plummeted to a distressing rate of N1000 and beyond per dollar.

The price of fuel, which was previously N87 per liter during the tenure of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has suddenly escalated to over N600 per liter under the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.

According to Ologunagba, there is an ongoing and relentless increase in the prices of vital commodities, including staple food items, without any foreseeable resolution.
