Obaseki plans to open emergency call centers in Edo.

On Friday, the Edo administration announced its intention to establish emergency communication centers in several locations throughout the state.

According to a statement posted on the official social media handle of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) X, it has been indicated that this initiative aligns with Governor Godwin Obaseki's commitment to safeguarding the well-being and assets of all residents of Edo state.

The disclosure was made by the Honorable Commissioner of Public Security and Safety, Honorable Kingsley Uwagbale, inside the confines of his office, as stated by the PDP.

During a press briefing on the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the National Communication Commission (NCC) in Abuja and the Edo Government, Uwagbale revealed the details. The MOU aims to establish a contemporary system for managing emergencies within the safety and security framework of the state.

The Honorable Uwagbale, acting as the representative of Governor Obaseki, emphasized the significance of the event at the Commission. This event aligns with the current administration's objective to establish Edo state as a leading destination for residence and economic growth by the year 2050.

According to the statement, the Commissioner emphasized that the current administration places the highest importance on ensuring the safety and protection of the lives and property of all citizens in Edo state.

The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was attended by Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde, who represented the Executive Vice Chairman of the Commission, as well as a delegation from the Edo State Government.

According to Uwagbale, the security architecture was established with the intention of benefiting all states within the nation, with Edo being recommended as a model for other states to follow.

Obaseki previously established the Ministry of Public Security and Safety in line with his administration's dedication to safeguarding security, stability, and sustainable economic development within the state.

The objective at hand is to establish Edo as the most tranquil and conducive state for investment within the Nigerian context.
