Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has acknowledged that the club's historic Treble has taken a toll on everyone, including him.

Guardiola was speaking after City overcame Brighton 2-1 to snap a two-game losing streak in the Premier League.

Guardiola admitted there is a hangover from last season's achievements, but the champions were far from their fluid best against Roberto De Zerbi's team.

"The Treble had an impact on us all, even me. We must therefore be present, appearing in the season's closing minutes, being close to the opposition, and attempting to repeat the feat.

"I've stated numerous times that no one has ever won four consecutive Premier League championships, demonstrating how challenging it is. However, it's crucial to be there right now to advance to the next round, particularly in the Champions League, according to Guardiola.
