Lagos prohibits the construction of jetty in Amuwo Odofin.
The Lagos State Government has taken measures to address the issue of unauthorized and inadequate jetty construction in the Ijegun-Egba area of the Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area.

According to a statement made by Jubril Gawat, the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Governor Babajide Sanwo, Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Yacoob Ekundayo Alebiosu, issued a directive for a 'Stop-Work-Order' to be sent to the builders of the jetty on Saturday.

According to Alebiosu, the construction fails to meet the mandated safety standards.

According to his statement, the state government will not passively observe any individual jeopardizing the well-being of its residents, including the school children who utilize the jetty on a daily basis.

The commissioner strongly encouraged the individuals to utilize the government-constructed jetty, asserting that it possesses sufficient capacity to cater to the needs of the local populace.

The recommendation was made to people who express interest in constructing private jetties, emphasizing the importance of conducting comprehensive environmental impact studies and acquiring the requisite authorization from the Ministry prior to undertaking such endeavors.
