Lagos bans a steel business for causing environmental damage
Due to environmental contamination, the Lagos State Government on Thursday closed one of the Ikorodu-based steel firms.

The action was carried out by Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, General Manager (GM) of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), and his enforcement team.

In response to serious environmental pollution, Ajayi and his colleagues announced late Thursday night that they had sealed Pulkit Alloy & Steel Limited in Ikorodu, Odogoyan.

According to LASEPA, "the company has repeatedly broken environmental laws, emitting hazardous substances that pose significant health and environmental risks to the residents of Ikorodu and its surroundings."

In the interim, the organization has requested Lagos State people to kindly complete the complaint form on the organization's website for more information regarding their concern.
