Kogi guber: APC will win by a landslide based on the strength of our organization and accomplishments, not on ethnic sentiment Bello Yahaya
Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State reiterates his stance on the exclusion of ethnic politics within the state, characterizing individuals who advocate for any agenda that does not serve the collective interests of the state as adversaries of the populace.

Governor Bello emphasized that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is an inclusive political party that encompasses several ethnic groups within the state. He expressed confidence in the party's ability to secure a resounding victory, attributing it not to racial biases, but rather to the robustness of the APC and the accomplishments of his administration.

The individual delivered a speech during the APC Stakeholders' meeting that took place on Thursday at the Glass House, located within the Government House premises in Lokoja, the capital city of the state.

It is imperative to eliminate the significance of ethnicity within the context of Kogi State. Individuals advocating for an ethnic agenda may not have the best intentions for fostering national unity. The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State encompasses a diverse range of ethnic groups. The speaker expressed the need to prevent unworthy individuals from impeding our progress.

Governor Bello expressed a strong belief in the dominant victory of the APC in the upcoming November 11 Governorship election. He emphasized that the party secured an overwhelming 99 percent of elective positions in the state during the previous general election.

We became victorious in all senatorial elections. We emerged victorious in the majority of the House of Representatives and Assembly elections, with the exception of a single contest. Currently, all opposition political parties have aligned themselves with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

The pervasive presence of the APC party apparatus is evident through the approximately 1500 political appointees throughout the state. The citizens of our State are unified without any discernible ethnic distinctions.

The upcoming gubernatorial race on November 11 can be likened to a pugilistic encounter involving the formidable Mike Tyson and a politically feeble party suffering from malnutrition. The Governor emphasized that the victory will be achieved through the power of the APC, rather than relying on ethnic sentiment, resulting in a significant and decisive outcome.

Governor Bello urged party members to return to their respective constituencies and focus on strengthening the party's successful tactics at the grassroots level.

The speaker issued a warning against the use of force and encouraged members of the party to engage in a campaign centered around policy matters, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a nonviolent approach.

The electoral victories of the late Prince Abubakar Audu in 1992 and 1999 were not solely attributed to ethnic sentiment. Alhaji Ibrahim Idris became victorious on two separate occasions, without relying on ethnic sentiment as a determining factor. Captain Idris Wada was victorious in the year 2012, based on merit rather than any form of sentiment. In the year 2018, I achieved a resounding victory, which was not primarily influenced by ethnic emotion.

The speaker expressed confidence that in the year 2023 and beyond, electoral victories will not be determined by ethnic sentiments.
