The 30-year-old couple, Itay and Hadar Berdichevsky, reacted swiftly when they heard the assailants trying to break down their front door.
Israeli ambassador to Colombia Gali Dagan claimed that the panicked parents hurriedly crammed their two infants into a covert refuge just before the Hamas terrorists barged into their home.
Prior to being shot and killed during the gunmen's attack on Israel, which resulted in the deaths of more than 700 Israelis, Itay and Hadar "bravely resisted" the attackers.
Fortunately, after being abandoned for more than 12 hours, their two infants were discovered and saved by Israeli forces, according to Dagan, who praised the parents as "heroes" for doing "all they could to save their children."
Dagan posted on Twitter, "They concealed their 10-month-old twin toddlers in the refuge as terrorists infiltrated their home." Itay and Hadar heroically fought the attackers before being cruelly killed.
"The infants were abandoned for more than 12 hours before being rescued. Think about the terror. Two scared parents are attempting all within their power to save their newly orphaned children. May these heroes' memories always be blessed.
After the terrorists conducted a surprise attack on Israel over the weekend, Itay and Hadar are now among the more than 700 Israelis who have been killed by Hamas.
