According to the interior minister, a "terrorist attack" occurred near Turkey's parliament in Ankara, resulting in injuries to two police officers.


According to Ali Yerlikaya, the attack was executed by two assailants who arrived at the scene in a commercial vehicle at approximately 09:30 (06:30 GMT).


According to Mr. Yerlikaya, an assailant detonated an explosive device in close proximity to a ministry edifice, while another individual was effectively incapacitated.


The explosion occurred shortly prior to the scheduled resumption of parliamentary proceedings.


The identity of the attackers remains ambiguous. The responsibility for the incident remains unclaimed.


Initial media accounts of the explosion also made mention of auditory observations of gunfire within the vicinity. Emergency services promptly responded to the incident, deploying law enforcement personnel to secure and restrict access to various adjacent thoroughfares.


Mr. Yerlikaya expressed on social media that our efforts will persist till the final eradication of all terrorists.
