Bright Okpocha, a renowned comedian widely known as Basketmouth, has recently issued a formal apology to his fellow comedian Ayodeji Richard Makun, also referred to as AY, thereby bringing an end to their longstanding 17-year dispute.

It is worth noting that AY and Basketmouth have garnered significant media attention due to their ongoing dispute.

Basketmouth, in a Black Box interview conducted by media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu in 2021, expressed that his relationship with AY deteriorated due to a breach of loyalty.

The individual expressed a desire for a complete lack of communication with the aforementioned individual, AY.

He further stated that there was never a friendship between them.

In an interview conducted by media personality Chude Jideonwo in May 2023, AY provided an explanation for the enduring conflict, attributing its origins to a failed business transaction that occurred in 2006.

Basketmouth, in an effort to promote ticket sales for his forthcoming November event, expressed remorse and requested forgiveness from AY and other individuals whom he had previously offended.

In a video posted on his official Instagram account on Monday, the comedian acknowledged his accountability for the 17-year-long conflict and expressed a public apology.

He expressed his apologies to any individuals within the profession and outside whom he may have insulted. I sincerely apologize for my actions and ask for your forgiveness. To those individuals who have levied accusations against me for actions that purportedly impacted their professional trajectories, I shall refrain from either affirming or refuting these claims. However, I firmly believe that the veracity of these allegations is within the purview of a higher power. However, I sincerely request forgiveness from the depths of my heart.

To my acquaintance AY, I am uncertain of the current validity of my apology, but if it remains applicable, I implore you to pardon me for any actions or statements I may have made in the past that have had an impact on you. I would like to inform you that I have chosen to extend my forgiveness towards you for whatever actions or statements that you may have intentionally or unintentionally committed. The object in question has been removed, and my intention was solely for our departure to occur in a state of tranquility and unity.
