Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has been advised by the Ondo State Consciousness Movement to put the needs of the people ahead of personal conflicts.
The group criticized the governor's ongoing absence from the state upon his return from a medical vacation overseas and claimed it had brought governance to a virtual standstill.
"The recent attempt by the Ondo State House of Assembly to impeach Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, followed by the prompt suspension of the impeachment proceedings by an order of the Federal High Court, is nothing less than a proxy war that is upsetting the lives of the people," he declared.
The state is left to languish as resources and energy that should be used for growth are wasted on internal conflict while the political power struggle continues.
THE governor was contacted at the same time that the state administration declared its preparedness to provide N10,000 to each vulnerable person and packs of noodles to more than 192,000 students.
Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, the commissioner for information and orientation, who made this announcement, emphasized that the money' flow will help to mitigate the impact of the loss of fuel subsidies on the most needy.
Ademola-Olateju claims that Governor Akeredolu also mandated the payment of all unpaid salary arrears to primary school teachers and local government employees in the state.
The information commissioner continued, saying that in order to help the pensioners, all arrears owed by the previous administration had been paid.
