In the Dei Dei region of the Federal Capital Territory, a mob attacked five police officers who were attempting to save a man suspected of taking another person's manhood.

According to reports, the Gwagwa police division's police officers went to save Mubarak, a guy who was on Thursday, October 5, 2023, almost lynched by a crowd.

According to Punch, a man who has not yet been named reported that after speaking with Mubarak, his masculinity had vanished.

The mob approached the accused and started beating him to return the allegedly lost manhood, a local who did not want to be identified told the newspaper on Friday.

He said that the police's presence made things worse because the mob attacked them and torched their vehicle rather than releasing the accused to them.

"On Thursday night at Dei-Dei Timber Market, a guy by the name of Mubarak was beaten by an enraged mob after one man said that after speaking with him, his masculinity vanished. When Mubarak shouted out for assistance, a few others gathered around him. When around five cops arrived to save him, he had already been battered and was on the verge of being lynched. The police's attempts to get the crowd to deliver Mubarak to them were unsuccessful, according to the witness.

"The mob then turned on the police officers and vandalized their car. The people who had escaped called their office, and reinforcements were sent to the scene. Yesterday, the entire region was tense, and we had no idea what would come next. It is essential to take action since the manhood issue is out of control.

Officers sent to the area were attacked by the mob, according to SP Josephine Adeh, a spokesperson for the FCT police who confirmed the incident.

"Our rescue team members who had been sent to the scene were attacked. The deployment of reinforcement was immediate. The area has returned to normal. Law-abiding residents can go about their business without fear, according to the PPR.

According to Adeh, the Police Commissioner rebuked the assault on the officers and ordered the arrest of those responsible.

"The CP strongly denounced the attack on police officers. He has commanded that the suspects be taken into custody. For the umpteenth time, we are cautioning against mob violence, especially in light of the disappearance of organs. We have detained 14 of the suspects and will keep doing so, she added.

In a video shared to Facebook, a mob is shown assaulting a man who appears to be Mubarak while one of the attackers repeatedly yells at him to "commot am" (the allegedly stolen manhood).
