FC Robo and Bayelsa Queens win opening games as BOWFT moves into day three.
The third edition of the Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament (BOWFT) is currently underway. Bayelsa Queens and FC Robo of Lagos won their opening games against Nasarawa Amazons and Fortress Ladis, respectively.


Taking place at the UNIBEN Sports Complex, Bayelsa United defeated Nasarawa Amazons in the 12th and 24th minutes of play to start Group B.


FC Robo then started their Group C campaign at the same arena, defeating Fortress Ladies 3-1 to take the lead in the group. The competition got underway on Monday with Edo Queens winning the opening round 3-1 over Naija Ratel of Abuja.


Chioma Olise scored the competition's opening goal in the 41st minute of play, giving Edo Queens a one-goal lead at the break.Edo Queens increased their pressure on their rivals when the second half resumed, and it paid off in the 50th minute when Suliat Abideen scored the second goal.


Despite Naija Ratels' goal halfway through the game, Edo Queens' advantage of two goals was regained in the 67th minute by Essien Emem.


Today's schedule for the competition includes Naija Ratels taking on Remo Stars Ladies, Bayelsa Queens playing Confluence Queens, and Heartland Queens playing Fortress Ladies at 2:00 p.m. The UNIBEN Sports Complex will host the games.


Western Boys Mini Stadium will host the encounter between FC Robo and Royal Queens. Later in the day, UNIBEN will host the match between Ekiti Queens and Honey Badgers.
