A group of civil society organizations in the Nigeria Delta have praised Tantita Security Service Nigeria Limited for its work in safeguarding the country's pipelines.
Following its evaluation of the situation on the ground in the Niger-Delta Area, the group stated at its monthly general meeting held over the weekend in Asaba, Delta State, that Tantita Security Network is doing a fantastic job.
The group stated that it was not surprising that the federal government renewed the pipelines surveillance contract awarded to Tantita, noting that it was evidence of the job well done and the confidence placed in the security firm to guard against vandalism, stop it in its tracks, and stop the ongoing destruction of the country's pipelines for personal gain.
Comrade Victor Itsede, the national coordinator of Restore Nigeria Integrity Initiatives (RNII), one of the NGOs that made up the Coalition, praised the progress made in the oil industry since Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited was tasked with guarding the country's pipelines.
According to a statement from Itsede, crude oil output has grown, and with the price of oil rising to approximately $100 per barrel, the government will now earn more money.
He stated that "the discovery of several illegal pipelines in the creeks and the destruction of vessels at sea on a voyage, ferrying illegal crude oil out of the shores of Nigeria by the combined forces of Nigerian Security Forces, occasioned by intelligence gathering and sharing by Tantita Security, is only commendable."
No one switches a winning side mid-game, the coalition declared in its communique following the conference. They disapproved of what it termed as planned rallies sponsored by ex-militant leaders in an effort to persuade the government to divide the contract given to Tantita Security Services.
The group asked all militants interested in safeguarding the country's pipelines to communicate with Tantita Security Services Ltd and collaborate with them with the ultimate objective of providing services to the country.
They urged Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), a private limited liability company, to immediately as a matter of urgency take advantage of the advantages of Tantita's enhanced security network and streamline its operations, increase production, generate more income, and maximize profits for the growth and development of the country, while also making it possible for the effective distribution of its products throughout the country and the transportation of crude oil to refineries.
