Chikamnayo, a former Abia commissioner, advises prudence in the appointment of the Aba mayor
Chief Eze Chikamnayo, the former Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Abia State, has advised Governor Alex Otti to exercise caution in the process of appointing the mayor of Aba city.

Chikamnayo expressed his response to purported efforts aimed at designating Ide John Udeagbala, a highly accomplished industrialist, as the Mayor of Aba city.

Ide John Udeagbala, a native of Ozubulu in the Ekwusigo local government area of Anambra State, is an individual who espouses economic nationalism. He has successfully completed his academic journey at Harvard University, obtaining a degree.

During a stakeholders conference held over the weekend, Governor Otti made an announcement in a widely circulated video, stating that the traditional distinction between indigenes and non-indigenes in Abia state is no longer applicable.

Chikamnayo emphasized the importance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the security services promptly intervening to restrain Governor Otti, in order to prevent the transformation of a tranquil state into a zone of turmoil.

As per the statement made by the former Commissioner, it is important to clarify that Aba, in its present state, is associated with two interconnected communities referred to as ABA NA OHAZU. The characterization of the situation as a no man's land, as portrayed by Alex Otti, is unfounded and lacks academic merit.

The aforementioned statement, titled "Preventing Alex Otti from causing unrest in Abia," emphasizes that the city of Aba is comprised of two interconnected villages referred to as "ABA NA OHAZU." It asserts that Aba is not an unclaimed territory, contrary to the portrayal of Alex Otti, and would never be such.

The statement asserts that it is both absurd and deceitful for any individual, regardless of their position, to claim nonexistent authority in order to distort this undeniable historical fact for short-term political gain.

Non-indigenous individuals originating from various regions of Abia State or Igbo territory, such as old Bende, Anambra, Enugu, Imo State, or Ebonyi, irrespective of their affluence or social standing, should exercise caution and refrain from being misled by Mr. Alex Otti's assertions that they can acquire ownership rights over Aba.

Through his hasty proclamation that Aba is a territory devoid of ownership, Mr. Alex Otti is unintentionally inciting conflict and provoking unnecessary disturbance within the tranquil city of Abia. The individual in question appears to be deliberately fueling the existing divide between indigenous and non-indigenous populations, with the intention of insulting the Ngwa Nation and creating further polarization within the political landscape.

Perhaps due to his inherent need to alleviate his own internal conflicts, which has resulted in him being a bipolar entity experiencing an identity crisis between Nvosi and Arochukwu, Otti is currently causing unnecessary turmoil in Abia State. If this issue is not addressed promptly, it may result in the loss of lives and property.

Since assuming office, Mr. Alex Otti has gained a reputation for frequently engaging in attention-seeking behavior. In order to effectively support his fellow individuals of considerable stature such as Bourdex, Udeagbara, and others, it is imperative that he refrains from diminishing their significance by employing them as mere pawns, so instigating conflict between them and the general populace.

In expressing disapproval of the statement attributed to the Governor, the former Commissioner emphasized Chief Udeagbala's established reputation in Aba and his harmonious coexistence with the local populace. Consequently, it is advised that he refrains from being negatively influenced by any individual of lesser stature who may attempt to undermine his standing.

The individuals belonging to the Aba community, residents of Abia state, and individuals who prioritize peace should refrain from engaging in malicious provocation and instead adopt a peaceful approach. It is advisable for individuals to refrain from yielding to the unpredictable and arbitrary actions of a disoriented and ineffective leader who engages in frivolous behavior under the guise of governing.

Is it possible for Mr. Alex Otti to visit Umuahia and communicate to the Ibeku and Ohuhu communities that Umuahia North is an area without a specific owner? Is it possible for him to visit Owerri, Onitsha, Port Harcourt, or Warri and express such provocative and irrational remarks?

It is expected that the esteemed members of Aba Sports Club will not permit Mr. Alex Otti to disrupt the calm and convivial atmosphere in Aba through his irresponsible political maneuvers.

Any factor that disrupts the state of calm in Aba has the potential to disrupt trade and investment not only in the South East region but also across Nigeria as a whole.

I now express my intention to bring to the attention of His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, as well as all relevant security agencies, the presence of a potentially disruptive element in Abia state.

It is imperative that swift action be taken to avert the potential repercussions stemming from Mr. Alex Otti's ill-considered strategy of fostering division and manipulation. The proverb "A stitch in time saves nine" emphasizes the need of taking prompt action to address a problem or issue, as doing so can prevent further complications or difficulties in the future.
