Broadcast journalist calls for road safety in Nigeria
The level of activity on Nigerian roads has the potential to match that of more orderly societies, provided that Nigerians consistently adhere to traffic rules and regulations.

The primary subject of discussion was the recent sensitization campaign titled "Driving and the Nigerian in you, Rights, Roles and Responsibilities," which was conducted by Adetola Kayode, a renowned Broadcast Journalist and Safe Driving Advocate. The initiative was brought to the attention of the Church congregation last Sunday.

The sensitization session is being organized as a component of initiatives aimed at mitigating the prevalence of road accidents, particularly those that are preventable and result from irresponsibility exhibited by drivers.

During the sensitization event conducted at Graceville Chapel, located near Allen roundabout in Ikeja, Lagos, Kayode emphasized the need of road users adhering to traffic signs and rules. Additionally, he highlighted the significance of utilizing seatbelts in both the front and rear seats, as well as fostering mutual respect among road users, including pedestrians.

I aspire to witness the improvement of our society. It is imperative that individuals exhibit mutual respect for each other while navigating roadways, as opposed to engaging in behaviors that may lead to disorderly circumstances. When considering personal safety and the safety of others, individuals are less likely to hastily leave their residence due to being tardy for an assignment. She provided advice about rushing and creating additional commotion during the ember month.

A significant number of participants expressed their appreciation for the program, noting that it serves as an enlightening experience. This sentiment arises from the observation that numerous individuals tend to disregard safety regulations.

According to Kayode Oduoye, the sensitisation project is commendable as it effectively facilitates the direct dissemination of the word to the populace. The Church serves as a platform through which individuals can enhance their familial and personal experiences. According to him, her actions serve as a significant means of raising awareness and mobilizing individuals towards the notion of leading a healthy and secure lifestyle.

Ogechukwu Nwajagu emphasized the need of adhering to traffic regulations, highlighting that the duty of safeguarding individuals extends beyond the government to encompass personal responsibility for oneself and one's family.

According to Ayobami Kuyoro, the sensitization session proved to be highly informative and valuable, particularly in view of the current circumstances prevailing in the country. The curriculum has provided me with numerous significant insights that I am incorporating into my understanding. It is imperative to maintain a constant state of vigilance regarding safety on a daily, monthly, and ongoing basis. It is imperative that we adhere to all the information disseminated throughout the event, as I am of the opinion that doing so will contribute to the enhanced safety of our roadways.

The "Driving and the Nigerian in you" program, which is sponsored by Adetola Kayode, represents the third installment in a series aimed at raising awareness about the collective responsibility for safety and security on Nigerian roads.
