Armed forces strike terrorist camps in Imo and Anambra
On Saturday, military forces involved in Operation Udoka II carried out clearance operations on camps belonging to terrorist groups in Imo and Anambra states.


The military personnel apprehended an individual believed to be involved in acts of terrorism, and additionally discovered materials used in the production of Improvised Explosive Devices, motorcycles, provisions, and various logistical supplies within the encampments.


According to Lt.-Col. Jonah Unuakhalu, the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 82 Division in Enugu, the clearance operations were conducted in the Lilu hamlet and Orsumoghu Forest located in the Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State.


In addition, the military personnel also carried out clearance operations throughout the Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra, as stated by the source.


During the course of the clearance operations, the military personnel met a diverse array of impediments and successfully neutralized numerous instances of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).


The military personnel encountered individuals associated with terrorism, who then sought refuge in the adjacent foliage while sustaining bullet injuries as a result of the overwhelming force exerted by the former.


According to Unuakhalu, a number of camps and shrines belonging to the terrorists were also eradicated.
