APC upbeat about defeating Diri in Bayelsa poll
In anticipation of the next gubernatorial election in Bayelsa State on November 11, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has refuted the claims made by certain factions that there exists a lack of harmony among the party's prominent leaders.

Yekini Nabena, the Secretary of the Media and Publicity Committee of the National Gubernatorial Campaign Council for the state, has called upon the electorate to dismiss the assertion made by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state. The PDP claims that the Minister of State for Petroleum, Heineken Lokpobiri, and the 2019 governorship candidate, David Lyon, are collaborating with Governor Douye Diri.

According to Nabena, a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC, any claims of division within the APC in the state are unfounded.

The individual characterized the report as a form of propaganda that is financially supported by the PDP faction with the intention of fostering discontent inside the victorious APC group.

According to the individual cited, there have been media reports indicating that Diri has allocated 50 positions of Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) to both Lokpobiri and Lyon, while also assuring them a degree of power in decision-making processes.

However, in a press release issued yesterday in Abuja, Nabena presented fresh photographs as evidence, showcasing the renewed dedication of both Lokpobiri and Lyon to deliver Timipre Sylva and secure victory for the APC in Bayelsa.

These photographs were taken at a meeting with the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

According to Nabena, the utilization of propaganda tactics by the PDP faction in relation to the next gubernatorial election is unlikely to yield favorable results.

This is due to the fact that individuals have firmly decided to remove the PDP administration from power, attributing their decision to the state's lack of development under their governance.

We have been aware of a sponsored misinformation circulating in certain circles, which implies divisions within the Bayelsa APC party in anticipation of the next gubernatorial election on November 11th in the state.

The focus of our attention remains steadfast, as we possess a comprehensive understanding of the incumbent governor's increasing desperation.

This desperation is evident in their utilization of various strategies, such as propaganda and falsehoods, in an attempt to sow discord and bewilderment. Regrettably, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) finds itself in a disadvantaged position as the residents of Bayelsa have firmly resolved to remove the incumbent who has been seen responsible for the lack of progress in the economically prosperous region.
