APC insists there is no division inside the party and demands Diri's loss in the Bayelsa election
Prior to the gubernatorial election scheduled for November 11 in Bayelsa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has refuted the claims circulating in certain circles that there exists a division within the party's leadership.

The Secretary of the Media and Publicity Committee of the National Gubernatorial Campaign Council for the state, Hon. Yekini Nabena, has been advised to dismiss the assertion made by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state regarding the alleged collaboration between the Minister of State for Petroleum, Heineken Lokpobiri, and the 2019 governorship candidate, David Lyon, in support of Governor Douye Diri.

According to Nabena, a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), any claims regarding a division within the party's ranks in Bayelsa are merely deceptive.

Nabena characterized the study as a form of misinformation that is financially supported by the People's Democratic Party (PDP) faction, with the intention of fostering discord within the victorious All Progressives Congress (APC) group.

Several newspapers have published articles discussing a potential collaboration between Governor Douye Diri, who is running for re-election under the PDP party, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, the Minister of State for Petroleum (Oil), and David Lyon, the 2019 governorship candidate.

According to media reports, the Governor has allocated 50 positions of Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) to both Lokpobiri and Lyon, while also assuring them a degree of influence in decision-making processes.

However, in a statement made on Monday in Abuja, Nabena refuted the accusations. He also provided current images showing Lokpobiri and Lyon reaffirming their commitment to deliver Timipre Sylva and the party in Bayelsa before the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Nabena asserted that the utilization of propaganda tactics by the PDP faction in Bayelsa, with regards to the forthcoming gubernatorial election, is unlikely to yield favorable outcomes. This is due to the populace's resolute determination to oust the PDP administration, which they perceive as responsible for the state's underdevelopment.

The aforementioned statement highlights that there has been an awareness of a sponsored propaganda circulating in certain circles, which insinuates divisions within the Bayelsa APC leading up to the gubernatorial election on November 11th in the state.

We remain undeterred as we possess a comprehensive understanding of the increasingly desperate state of the incumbent governor, Douye Diri. Consequently, he has resorted to employing various strategies, such as propaganda and falsehoods, in an attempt to sow confusion. Regrettably for the People's Democratic Party (PDP), their efforts come too late, as the people of Bayelsa have firmly resolved to remove the incumbent governor, whom they perceive as having failed to adequately develop a state abundant in oil resources.

To dispel any skepticism, the enclosed photographs serve as evidence that Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, the Minister of State for Petroleum (Oil), and David Lyon, the 2019 gubernatorial candidate, recently engaged in a significant meeting with our candidate. This meeting took place in the presence of our National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. During this gathering, all participants reaffirmed their commitment, and an extensive mobilization effort has subsequently commenced.

However, we express empathy towards Governor Diri and his associates for their delayed response, considering their limited time remaining in the Bayelsa state government House.

Nabena expressed a call for composure among party members, sympathizers, and the broader public, emphasizing the anticipation of a significant triumph and dismissing any falsehoods insinuating divisions within their ranks.
