Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has made an announcement regarding the provision of a palliative measure to alleviate the impact of the gasoline subsidy removal. This measure entails the allocation of a sum of 25,000 naira to federal workers across various levels.

On Sunday, Gbajabiamila issued this statement subsequent to a meeting between the Federal Government and organized labor at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria.

According to Gbajabiamila, the initial intervention of 25,000 naira, which was announced by President Tinubu for federal workers in lower grades, will now be extended to encompass workers across all levels.

This statement was released subsequent to the continuing meeting held with the National Labour Union (NLC) and the Trade Union Commission (TUC) over the imminent statewide strike scheduled for October 3rd.

The gathering, convened by Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President, is now being attended by several ministries.

On the preceding Tuesday, the organized labor, consisting of the leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), declared their intention to initiate an indeterminate strike action on the 3rd of October.
