Spanish authorities say that a fire that broke out at a nightclub in the city of Murcia in the country's southeast has resulted in the deaths of at least six people.
At approximately 06:00 local time (04:00 GMT), a fire broke out in the famed Teatre nightclub, which is situated in the Atalayas neighborhood of the city.
The number of fatalities could climb, according to the authorities.
The local emergency services are searching the area for persons who went missing after being in the building at the time of the incident.
Smoke inhalation has caused the hospitalization of four people currently.
It is not known what caused the fire, which broke out while there was still a lot of activity going on in the club.
