6 year old boy slain in anti-Muslim knife attack, according to US authorities
A man is accused of killing two individuals and committing hate crimes after reportedly stabbing them twice because they were Muslims.

In Plainfield, Illinois, Joseph Czuba, 71, is charged with the murder of a six-year-old kid and the injury of a 32-year-old woman.

According to the Will County Sheriff's Office, they were targeted as a result of the ongoing confrontation between Hamas and Israel.

The woman and her kid, who were Palestinian-Americans, were attacked, and President Biden expressed his "sickness" at the incident.

The statement from Vice President Biden read, "This awful act of hate has no place in America, and goes against our core values: freedom from fear for how we pray, what we believe, and who we are."

"As Americans, we must unite and condemn Islamophobia as well as all other types of prejudice and intolerance."

First-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, hate crimes, and aggravated violence were the charges brought against Mr. Czuba.

According to the statement released on Sunday, the Will County Sheriff's Office got an emergency call on Saturday morning from the woman who said she was being attacked by her landlord in Plainfield, close to Chicago.

She "went into the restroom and continued to fend off her attacker," the woman claimed.

The mother and the boy had "several stab wounds to their chest, torso, and upper extremities" when the police arrived on the scene.

The hospital received both casualties, but the youngster later passed away. The toddler had been stabbed 26 times, it was eventually determined.

The Sheriff's office stated that the knife used in the attack was a 12-inch (31cm) serrated military style knife with a seven-inch blade.

The woman, who was critically hurt, is anticipated to make it through the attack.

According to the statement, Mr. Czuba was discovered "sitting erect outside on the ground near the driveway of the property."

Before being questioned by detectives, he was brought to the hospital for medical attention.

The Sheriff's office continued, "Detectives were able to establish that both victims in this savage attack were specifically targeted by the suspect due to their Muslim faith and the ongoing Middle Eastern conflict involving Hamas and the Israelis."

The victims' names have not been made public by the organization.

However, the youngster was identified as Wadea al-Fayoume and his mother as Hanaan Shahin at a news briefing later on Sunday from the Chicago office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago), an American rights organization.

According to the report, Wadea was born in the US, and his mother, who is from Beitunia in the West Bank, arrived in the nation 12 years ago.

Wadea had just recently celebrated his birthday, according to Ahmed Rehab, executive director of CAIR-Chicago.

He cherished his friends and family. He adored basketball and soccer.

And he paid the price for the climate of intolerance, otherization, and dehumanization that, in my opinion, is permeating the US as a result of careless leadership, biased, one-sided pronouncements and coverage in the media, as well as elected officials.

Mr. Rehab continued, "And we warned about avoiding repeating the same mistake we had in the post 9/11 environment, when innocent members of a certain group had been victimized for the horrific attacks in the US in 2001.

Last weekend, when Hamas fighters invaded Israel from the Gaza Strip to target civilians and soldiers, more than 1,400 people died.

According to Palestinian sources, Israel's bombing in Gaza has resulted in more than 2,450 deaths, with an additional 1,000 individuals perhaps still missing under the ruins.
