Zamfara APC opposes the removal of essential Shari'a components.
The All Progressive Congress (APC) chapter in Zamfara State has denounced the State Government's alleged removal of important Shari'a components.

It stated that the government had taken the move as a result of a circular issued by Lawal Hussain, the permanent secretary for cabinet affairs.

According to the party, the seven elements are the Directorate for Quranic Schools and Islamic Organization, Islamic Preachings and Jumaat Mosques and Eid praying grounds Establishment Regulation Commission, Shari'a Research and Development Commission, Public Complaint Commission, A at Corruption Commission, and Quranic Recitation and Tajweed Agency.

This was stated in a news release sent out by Mallam Yusuf Idris, the Zamfara APC publicity secretary.

These elements were crucial in promoting Islamic traditions, education, and governance inside the State; their elimination has sparked worries about the initiatives' viability.

The party contended that, in a state where virtually all of the people are Muslims, Governor Lawal's choice was a substantial divergence from the State's founding principles.

"Of particular concern is the UCC's removal from the Government House and the reallocation of its secretariat to the governor's wife, who does not possess any constitutionally recognized role in government. The UCC was created to provide the governor with Islamic advice and make sure that the actions of the government adhere to Shari'ah law.

"The actions of Governor Lawal have called into doubt his adherence to Islamic principles and his comprehension of their significance in Zamfara State. Critics claim that removing these elements will result in the deterioration of Islamic beliefs and customs, potentially producing problems within the Muslim community.

The party continued, "Additionally, the closure of organizations like the Sharia Research and Development Commission and the Qur'anic Recitation and Tajweed Agency has raised questions about the state's capacity to adequately support Islamic education and research."

The APC urged Governor Lawal to change his mind and reinstate the Shari'ah implementation commissions that had been eliminated.
