  • We are pursuing criminals, terrorists, and vows. CDSAccording to Maj.-Gen. Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), the military is committed to eliminating bandits and terrorists within the nation's borders.


On Friday, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) expressed his commitment during a courtesy visit to Governor Uba Sani at the government house in Kaduna.


According to his statement, individuals involved in acts of terrorism and criminal activities would inevitably face consequences in due course. We intend to pursue them and compel their complete departure from the nation."


As per his statement, there is an ongoing process of evaluating and enhancing the effectiveness and resilience of our operational theaters.


The individual elucidated that the military is currently engaged in an expansion of its operational endeavors with the aim of bridging existing gaps. This expansion entails a shift in the military's modus operandi, including both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches.


"As military officers, it is imperative to consider the simultaneous execution of both operations, wherein the deployment of additional troops is crucial in order to effectively restrict the mobility of terrorists and minimize their ability to navigate freely within the designated area," he observed.


The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) further emphasized the need of maintaining a vigilant stance towards security and encouraged individuals to promptly report any potentially dubious activities. Additionally, the CDS underscored the collective responsibility of all individuals in upholding security measures.


Musa reaffirmed the aspiration to foster a state of tranquility in Kaduna, emphasizing its strategic significance and the perception of Kaduna as a unifying abode for all individuals.


He expressed confidence in the military's ability to overcome both security and economic obstacles and achieve success.


Governor Uba Sani expressed his reiterated request on behalf of the state administration for the extended presence of the Special Forces in the ongoing efforts to combat banditry and terrorism.


Additionally, the individual made a request for the expansion of Operation Safe Haven in the broad area of Southern Kaduna, citing the issues faced in Zangon Kataf, Kaura, Kauru, and Sanga Local Government Areas (LGAs).


According to his statement, the proposed expansion is expected to significantly contribute to the containment of threats and the reinforcement of ongoing actions in those specific regions.


The governor further emphasized the necessity of implementing measures inside the Birnin Gwari vicinity to limit the utilization of the Kuduru, Kuyanbana, and Kamuku forests as havens for bandits and terrorists.


According to his statement, it is imperative to implement additional measures to restrict the passages that link Birnin Gwari with adjacent states such as Zamfara, Niger, and Katsina, with the aim of preventing criminals from exploiting these routes.


As per his statement, there has been an increased emphasis on inter-state cooperation in combating acts of banditry and terrorism.


Sani expressed his ongoing communication with fellow Governors and emphasized the refinement of methods aimed at preventing criminal elements from finding safe havens or hiding places in any of the adjacent states within the North West or North Central regions.


Additionally, he provided assurance of the state government's dedication to maintaining a harmonious relationship with the military.


The speaker expressed their assurance that the recipient can consistently rely on their genuine prayers, sincere support, and well-intentioned wishes in their role as the leader of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
