Samson Erinfolami Balogun Eletu, a concert promoter commonly referred to as Sam Larry, has been taken into jail by the Nigeria Police in relation to the continuing investigations surrounding the death of Mohbad.


The aforementioned statement was issued by Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Command, using his social media account, namely X formerly known as Twitter, during the late hours of Thursday, September 28, 2023.


Sam Larry is a person of interest who has been implicated in the series of events that potentially contributed to the untimely demise of the emerging Afrobeats artist.


The authorities have initiated inquiries to elucidate the facts surrounding the demise of the 27-year-old artist. An autopsy has already been conducted subsequent to the exhumation of his remains on the preceding Thursday.


Mohabd's demise on September 12 was shrouded in mystery, with reports suggesting that his struggles with depression and other mental health concerns may have been influenced by his contentious departure from Marlian Records, a record label owned by Naira Marley.


Sam Larry, Naira Marley, and Mohbad have been identified as individuals with established connections. Subsequent to Mohbad's demise, video evidence emerged on the internet, showcasing instances of his mistreatment and harassment by the aforementioned individuals. Consequently, conjectures have arisen over their potential complicity in his untimely demise.


A supplementary video emerged inside the realm of social media, wherein the deceased individual expressed a request for Nigerians to attribute responsibility for his potential demise to his former employer, Naira Marley.


The disclosure of this information has resulted in the duo being identified as primary individuals under suspicion in the continuing investigations, as the Nigerian populace persistently calls for the attainment of justice for the deceased vocalist.


Despite the publication of a video by the show promoter in an attempt to refute his suspected connection to Mohbad's demise, whereby he stated that the circulating web videos are outdated and should not be seen as evidence of his guilt, Nigerian citizens persist in demanding that he present himself to the authorities in order to exonerate himself.


In regards to this matter, Naira Marley has vehemently refuted any involvement in the circumstances surrounding Mohbad's demise.


The vocalist, who has been residing abroad since the occurrence, expressed his intention to come back and submit himself to law enforcement in order to aid in the ongoing inquiries, contingent upon the condition that the authorities ensure his personal security.
