Unregistered nurse suspect detained for injecting Mohbad - Lagos NANNMThe suspect detained for administering an injection to the late musician Mohbad is not a licensed nurse, according to the Lagos State National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives.

Recall that Mohbad's father, Joseph Aloba, claimed in one of his widely shared interviews that his son Mohbad passed away on September 12 after receiving an injection from a support nurse.

Toba Odumosu, the association's State Secretary, revealed the information in a statement posted on its official X on Saturday.

"The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, Lagos State Council, extends its heartfelt sympathies to the friends and family of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, during this trying time. In light of his untimely demise, they are in our thoughts and prayers.

"We firmly urge the competent authorities to exhaust all available resources in their pursuit of justice for him and fully support the current investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

"We must emphasize the significance of professionalism in reporting and carrying out this investigation, though. NANNM is keenly interested in the situation and is closely monitoring it. Our early findings show that the person who was allegedly detained by the police for treating Mohbad is not a licensed nurse.

"We emphasize how important it is to confirm persons' credentials and professional status before designating them as healthcare practitioners.
