Tribunal: Tinubu and Shettima's victories enriched and strengthened Nigeria's legal system - Boroffice

Prof. Ajayi Boroffice, a former deputy majority leader in the Senate, praised the judiciary on Wednesday for not allowing distractions and intimidation to affect the delivery of the ruling that upheld President Bola Tinubu and his vice, Kashim Shettima, as the winners.

The former congressman asserts that there is no question that the ruling has improved and expanded the nation's legal system.

Boroffice congratulated Tinubu on his victory at the Presidential Electoral Petition Tribunal and emphasized that the outcome was in line with what most Nigerians expected.

He emphasized the importance of the judiciary's unflinching adherence to the law, claiming that this has improved Nigeria's democratic institutions through its objectivity and commitment to maintaining the integrity of elections.

Boroffice further noted the favorable impact of the verdict on the nation’s legal structure, as it establishes a precedent for future electoral disputes.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) members' demands and the expectations of the vast majority of Nigerians who supported the APC in the 2023 presidential election are both met by the affirmation of the presidential mandate.
