The Ogun government issues a cholera outbreak alert in Ijebu.
The Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State has experienced a cholera outbreak, and the state government has issued an alert.

In a statement on Sunday, Tomi Coker, the governor's special adviser on health, announced this.

There is a cholera outbreak (Aarun n gbá méj) in the Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State, according to Coker.

She claims that in addition to typically occurring during rainy seasons, cholera may also be linked to unsanitary living conditions and personal hygiene.

According to her, the illness manifests as stooling with or without vomiting, which causes dehydration.

According to the previous health commissioner, "Cholera can result in death if the severe dehydration is not promptly corrected."

She encouraged inhabitants of Ogun to "notify the LGA DSNO (08069788449) and report all cases of stooling with or without vomiting to government health facilities."

The Special Adviser instructed the populace to maintain good personal and environmental hygiene and urged them to often wash their hands (before and after using the restroom or consuming food).

Use clean sources of water, cleanse it before using it, and boil it before consuming. Before eating, carefully wash and cook the food. Avoid open defecation, she recommended.

She urged people to be cautious about the food and water they consume, pointing out that feces-contaminated water or food is what causes cholera.
