On Thursday, the Enforcement Team of the Courier and Logistics Regulatory Department, NIPOST, conducted a clampdown exercise under the supervision of iGONG. During this operation, a total of 20 motorbikes owned by unauthorized operators were confiscated.
Several unlawful operators in Abuja, such as Henich, Mac-Nemos, DownTown Grill, and Ruthy's Logistics, have been impacted.
According to Shonde 'Dotun, the General Manager of CLRD, the implementation of this initiative is imperative in order to mitigate the prevalence of unlicensed courier operators and address security concerns.
According to the speaker, a comparable enforcement effort has been implemented in many states, including as Lagos, Ekiti, Ondo, Edo, Delta, Katsina, Ogun, Oyo, Rivers, and Kwara states.
The speaker elucidated that the process of obtaining an operational license has been rendered more adaptable and accessible at NIPOST branches throughout the country.
The establishment of the operation has become a permanent fixture due to the extensive presence and influence of unlicensed courier operators in Nigeria's postal, Express, Courier, and Logistics Industry, who have disregarded ethical standards of professional behavior.
There exist concerns regarding the presence of prohibited objects, such as small arms, ammunition, firearms, gold, currency, explicit materials, and other similar items.
According to his statement, the aforementioned issue poses a significant threat to the postal industry and presents an unfavorable perception within Nigerian society as a whole.
