The Kwara fire service found the body of a 47-year-old man who drowned in Ilorin.
A 47-year-old man was taken away by floodwaters in Ilorin. His body was found by the Kwara State Fire Service.

 

Hassan Adekunle, a spokesman for the State Fire Service, said in a statement released in Ilorin on September 27, 2023, that the unidentified guy was carried away by rushing water during a heavy rainstorm on Monday night. 

 

"The unidentified man, who was about 47 years old, died tragically when he was swept away by the raging water. His body was found today, September 27, 2023." 

 

"At 9:11 a.m. today, Mr. Saheed called the Kwara State Fire Service and asked for help. The fire service responded quickly and went to the scene."

 

"Thanks to their hard work, they were able to pull the dead man's body from the rough water. It had ended up at the Oloje Bridge next to the G' Division Police Station in Oloje, Ilorin."

 

"In a formal and caring handoff, the Kwara State Fire Service gave the body to Mr. Saka Abdulkareem, the Environmental Officer of Ilorin West Local Government," the statement said.

 

Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, who is in charge of the Kwara State Fire Service, said he was sad about what happened and asked people to be more careful in their daily lives and not move from one place to another when it rains.
