The Federal Government has officially declared Monday, October 2nd as a national holiday.
The declaration of Monday, October 2 as a public holiday by the Federal Government is in observance of the 63rd anniversary of independence. The announcement was made in Abuja by Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, on behalf of the government.


The Minister expressed congratulations to both Nigerians residing within the country and those living abroad, as stated in an issued statement.


The government expressed its unwavering dedication to addressing the prevailing difficulties confronting the nation, providing reassurance to the Nigerian populace.


It is today a known fact that difficult Socio-Economic and Security challenges are global, and Nigeria is not isolated,” the Minister said in the statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Dr Oluwatoyin Akinlade


The Minister stated that the administration is exerting significant efforts to address the multitude of difficulties with utmost determination until the country experiences relief.
