Splash FM bans Naira Marley songs in the wake of the Mohbad Death probe

Azeez Fashola, better known by his stage name Naira Marley, has had his music prohibited from being played on Splash FM 105.5 in Ibadan, Oyo State, due to the ongoing inquiry into the strange death of Mohbad, a previous label signee.

This information was revealed in a post that one of the radio station's hosts, Aderonke Adesola, made on X (formerly Twitter).

The management of Splash FM explained the suspension in an internal memo by citing the ongoing police investigation into Mohbad's death.

Due to the sensitive circumstances surrounding Mohbad's death and the ongoing criminal investigation, the message asked staff employees to use prudence. It added that, as of right away, Naira Marley's music is now officially designated as "Not to be Broadcast" on their station till further notice.

Greetings, team, it said in the post. I shall urge us all to use caution given the sensitive situation surrounding Mohbad's death and the criminal investigation the police have started.

The songs by Naira Marley are now NTBB (not to be aired) on our station till further notice as a result. This is effective right away. I'm grateful.

Following Mohbad's unexpected death at the age of 27, Naira Marley has become the center of debate.

The gifted performer passed just a year after his contentious breakup with the Naira Marley-owned record company after an internal conflict and abuse claims.
