Reports state that at around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, 50 kidnappers arrived in the region, armed with deadly weapons and firing sporadically to terrorize the locals.
This was revealed in a statement released on Monday by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda's spokesperson, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed.
According to the statement, the kidnappers methodically placed themselves throughout the neighborhood and started house-to-house raids before security personnel arrived.
However, the statement claims that at least six people were forcibly taken from their houses, shackled, and blindfolded, before assistance could arrive.
According to the statement, the scenario was averted by the security personnel' prompt presence.
Judge Alkali Saidu is one of the victims who was freed from the perpetrators' grasp.
The Nigerian Army, local vigilantes, and the Malumfashi Divisional Police Officer, Bello Umar, were all hailed by the governor for their valiant efforts in fending off the onslaught.
In order to battle terrorists, bandits, and other criminal groups ravaging the country, he underlined the significance of security services working together in joint operations.
Radda stated that other security officers around the state should aim to emulate the heroic reaction operation that the Malumfashi police squad, military forces, and local vigilantes in Katsina successfully carried out.
