Safe for flyover at Lagos Dorman Long - FG

The Dorman Long Flyover at Jibowu Bus Stop is structurally sound and safe to use, the Federal Controller of Works for Lagos State, Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, assured motorists on Monday.

In a statement, Kesha asked the public to ignore a social media video that implied that a part of the bridge connecting Ikorodu Road to Western Avenue (Jibowu-Ojuelegba) was in urgent need of repair due to its catastrophic condition.

In response to the claims, she said that she led her team of engineers on a physical inspection of the bridge to verify the assertion but found that the flyover was in good condition.

The bridge bearings at that position and all other portions were observed to be structurally sound, the controller reported, therefore it was determined that the section on which there was speculation was in good shape.

She clarified that the damage to the parapet wall was minimal and had no impact on the bridge's structural soundness.

"With this in mind, we would want to let the public know that the Dorman-long bridge is in good shape and usable. Consequently, the general people should feel at ease and continue to enjoy using the bridge in peace, she said.
