Reps return from their yearly break Sept 26
The first legislative year of the 10th Assembly will continue on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, after the House of Representatives returns from its annual break.

In a statement released on Friday, the House's spokesperson, Akin Rotimi, stated that the material had been sent to MPs by Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, the clerk of the House.

The 10th Assembly took a break on Thursday, July 27, 2023, after a plenary session in which Tajudeen Abbas, the Speaker, announced the leadership of the House's standing committees.

In its first 100 days of operation, the 10th Assembly has been quite active, with 470 measures that have received their first reading and four that have passed to the second reading. 175 motions were also examined by the House.

According to Rotimi, some of the important initial developments anticipated upon resumption include the completion of all ad hoc committees' work and the submission of their findings for the House's consideration.

It is also anticipated that the House will review and approve the Legislative Agenda's final text, which was created by an ad hoc committee headed by the House Leader, Hon. Prof. Julius Inhonvbere. The tentative agenda was created after thorough collaboration with important parties.

In a similar manner, it is anticipated that the standing committee membership will be made public and completely constituted shortly after the meeting resumes.
