Police are urged by Governor Oyebanji to investigate the circumstances of Mohbad's death.The governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, has requested investigators to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the passing of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (also known as Mohbad), a rising music artist.


The minimum the nation owes the deceased and his family, according to his special adviser on media, Yinka Oyebode, is justice, which he said could only be achieved through a careful examination of the events leading up to his death as well as the various revelations that followed.


As Ekiti youths prepared to hold a parade in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, to mourn the deceased musician and seek justice for him, Governor Oyebanji addressed on Tuesday.


He described Mohbad as a gifted singer who, at the age of 27, had already established himself in the entertainment industry with a number of popular songs to his credit. He said it is deeply regretful that the singer passed himself at the height of his career and that the circumstances surrounding it.


The Ekiti State Governor requested the Nigeria Police to look into the death and see that justice is served while expressing condolences to the late singer's close family and friends as well as his admirers globally.


"We offer our condolences to Mohbad's family and friends. We sympathize with them at this critical time and join other well-meaning Nigerians in calling for an exhaustive probe into the circumstances surrounding his passing, the statement continued.
