PEPC decision based on facts, not feelings, says APC chief
Mr. Jesutega Onokpasa, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), asserts that the judgement rendered by the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) on Wednesday was grounded in factual evidence rather than emotional biases.

During a virtual news conference held in Abuja on Thursday, Onokpasa, who is also a lawyer, expressed that the petitioners' legal recourse against President Bola Tinubu's election victory was driven by sentiments rather than factual evidence.

The entirety of the court proceedings proved to be an unproductive utilization of time, as the petitioners, in their capacity as Nigerians, expended the court's time as well as the time of the legal representatives involved.

According to his statement, the stance of the law is based on factual evidence rather than sentimentality.

According to Onokpasa, a member of the disbanded APC Presidential Campaign Council, numerous attempts were made to undermine and intimidate the judges during the proceedings of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPC). However, these efforts ultimately proved unsuccessful.

As to his assertion, the controversial decision regarding the allocation of 25 percent of votes in Abuja has resulted in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) attaining parity with other states.

The individual stated that the controversial allocation of 25 percent of votes in Abuja was an attempt to grant certain citizens a higher status than others.
